Grayson Gordon

Born Jan 28, 2009
2:08 pm
weight: 7 lbs. 6 oz.
length: 19.5 in

the birth story will be up tomorrow! (I need to get some sleep)

At today's Doc appointment my blood pressure jumped, so I will now be going in TOMORROW for my induction.

btw - I knew they should have just done it last week - now there are signs of protein in the urine - which is a sign of pre-eclampsia or toxemia - and I am soooo mad, because if my blood pressure is still high tomorrow, then I may have to be put on the darn magnesium sulfate during and after labor. That stuff really sucks. (had to have it when I labored with Thomas) It made me so HOT, it made my whole body feel heavy like lead, it made me throw up, and I swear I had a horrible rash/allergic reaction to it afterward because it didin't want to leave my system.
so send some good vibes that my b/p will come down by tomorrow.

and in the next update --- we'll have BABY PICTURES!!!!!!!

No hurrying this little guy along

Grayson doesn't seem to be in any hurry to come from his cozy womb - doc says still no progress, and he doesn't want to risk pushing me thru a long hard labor too early - so ANOTHER WEEK - next monday I will already be at 39 weeks - and by Thursday it will be 40 - so he said Wed (28th) he would have me come in and we would have baby by Thursday (29th) --- so that is the news.

My blood pressure was back up again, too.

well, I guess the good news is that my blood pressure was supposedly the lowest today that it has been my entire pregnancy (??) weird - I wanted to tell her she should probably take it again just to be sure, but I didn't.

so blood pressure dropped and I have not progressed, so Doc said we are waiting another week before he'll say induction. GRRR I really hate all this waiting.

Next appointment is next monday.

Baby update

Doc wouldn't set a date yet, because I haven't progressed or anything, and my blood pressure is still staying at the same level (still high, it just hasn't changed).
But he did say he is on call on Jan 22 - so he said that next week, we will probably make that day official. I will be exactly 39 weeks along on the 22.

day 3

5 things I am grateful for today
1. A good Car
2. Tyson working 2 jobs to help us keep saving
3. My B.U.D. -
4. My grandparents who spoil us
5. feeling pretty good so far this pregnancy

Day 2

of the challenge
figure out your net worth - this one was easy for us - we keep close track of this all the time, because we have to know how much we have for our downpayment, closing costs, regular savings (to pay for baby Grayson), etc. The only number I didn't know was our 401(K) - I don't pay too much attention to that one, because it seems like a far off thing, so I don't worry much about it.

Spending Freeze

I am a member of Mommysavers.com - love the site - I have gotten so many great ideas from these ladies on how to cut down my budget and save money -(it's now on my sidebar if ya want to check it out!!) and they have started what they call the Forget The Jones Bootcamp.
Today was day 1, and the challenge is to go on a 21 day spending freeze.
the idea is to have an approved spending list of the things that you can purchase in the next 21 days - so far I cannot think of much of anything that we need - we are pretty well stocked up for a while thanks to some bargin shopping I have done recently.
We will of course need some groceries, but I will be trying to make my menus based on what we have stocked in the cupboard first. And I will be doing my very best to make the "cheaper" things in my recipe books (can you say Tomato soup and grilled cheese? LOL)

My goal on top of their challenge is to redo my "price list" for my recipes. I made a list last year so I knew the price of every meal on my menu list, but in the last year the prices of every ingredient has dramatically gone up - AND I have added almost 30 more meals to my rotation that I do not know the total price of yet. Once I get that accomplished I will share it with all of you in the hopes that all my hard work can be useful to others as well as my family.

Happy New Year everyone! I think we have a great year ahead of us!
